What is it?
The Pagani STAR T-SHOCK™ is the most innovative and versatile body contouring/anti-aging device on the market. The STAR automatically sequences warm and cold at varying times and temperature’s to deliver the desired effect. The operator selects either the 32mm wand for face, neck and decollete treatments or the 50mm wand and moves them back and forth on the targeted area to execute a painless approach to treat: localized fat on the abdomen, arms, glutes, back and legs; reduce cellulite:, tone and tighten crepey or loose skin.
How it works?
THE STAR safely and effectively uses thermal shock to target and naturally destroy fat cells without any damage to beneficial cells. The Cryo STAR T-Shock breaks down fat cells, which your body naturally flushes out through the lymphatic system in days to weeks following the treatment. The 30 - 60 minute treatments are executed manually through a slow massage over the selected area of the body. Each session will begin with clean skin followed by a light gel application. The treatment begins with heat or cold, alternating between the two at varying times and temperatures. It is a non-invasive and painless treatment that feels like a light massage.
Benefit of the STAR T-SHOCK
Safety First
Is it safe? Yes, the STAR T-SHOCK is a safe, non-invasive treatment of adipose tissue to induce lipolysis—the breaking down of fat cells—to reduce body fat without damage to other tissues.
What does the treatment feel like?
The 30–60 minute treatments are executed manually through slow massage over the selected area of the body. Each session will begin with clean skin followed by a light gel application. The treatment begins with heat or cold, alternating between the two at varying times and temperatures. It is a non-invasive and painless treatment that feels like a light massage.
The Science Behind the Treatment
The STAR uses the technology of the Peltier cell by safely and quickly generating heat or cold. Each session starts with a warming phase followed by rapid cooling. The combined effect literally “shocks” the cells which has a far more profound effect on the results vs. using only warm or cold. Temperatures are pleasant and non-painful. Skin and fatty tissue are subjected to triple thermal shock (heat-cold-heat) or (cold-heat-cold) which optimizes results.
When will I see results and how long do they last?
T-Shock Slimming may require 5 or more sessions over several months to see the best results. T-Shock Toning results are more immediate and also may require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results.
Common Questions
-
How does it work?
The body contouring treatments last for roughly 30 minutes and are done manually employing a massage technique. The session begins with 2 minutes of heat and then a prolonged period of cold (22-26 minutes) and then back to heat for another 2-3 minutes. The purpose of the treatment is to lower the temperature of the fat cells enough to cause what is known as the phenomenon of apoptosis. This phenomenon is triggered when the temperature of the fat tissue is between 12 and 17 C which causes these cells to die. The cells are then naturally passed through the body’s lymphatic system and excreted through sweat and urine.
-
What are the benefits?
Clinical studies have shown that this technology naturally destroys fat cells, but as with most techniques, the results vary from one individual to another. The expected effect is usually rapid: part of the fat cells are destroyed during the session while most will be eliminated within 2 to 3 weeks. It has also been proven to help with micro circulation and a significant increase in collagen due to the thermal shock that is caused by the hot and cold.
-
How does it feel?
The treatment is painless, with some clients describing it as rather pleasant. This is due to the massage technique and the session beginning with skin warming and descending into the gradual decrease of temperature.
-
Who cannot do this treatment?
Anyone with the conditions below should not do this treatment:
• Kidney disease or dialysis
• Pregnant women
• Severe diabetes
• Undergoing chemotherapy
-
Who should consider this treatment?
Anyone who is looking to lose size, reduce cellulite, tighten saggy skin or treat stubborn areas of fat they are looking to remove.
-
Frequency of treatments?
Fat freezing treatments can be performed once every two weeks and lifting treatments can be performed every 7 days. There is a physiological reason for this: when apoptosis occurs and some fat cells die, waste is formed. This will be eliminated by natural routes (blood, lymphatic system and urine). Metabolism must therefore be allowed to evacuate this waste without overloading the system.
-
How quickly will I see results?
The first results are generally visible within a week following the first session. However, it should be noted that the best results appear from 15 days to 3 weeks after the start of treatment and extend for several months after the end of treatment. Generally: CryoSlimming may require 3-5 sessions over several weeks and months to see the best results. CryoSlimming sessions are done once every 2 weeks as to allow for proper lymphatic drainage. CryoToning results are more immediate and also may require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results.
-
How long do the results last?
Depending on the individual and depending also on their lifestyle and diet, the results last several months or several years. For Cellulite and Skin Tightening an ongoing monthly maintenance schedule is recommended.
-
How does it help with cellulite?
The CryoToning uses below zero temperatures that penetrate below the skin. Cellulite is caused by subcutaneous deposits of fat primarily in the legs and glutes. The Cryo T-Shock triggers the fluids that bind the fat cells together to crystalize. This crystallization destroys the fat cells and the bonds holding the deposits together. Repeated sessions will slowly take away the upper layers of fat. The cells which have been destroyed enter the bloodstream after which they are disposed of via the lymphatic system.

What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a popular term to describe fat deposits under the skin. It is characterized by dimpled or orang-peel appearance due to structural changes underneath the skin’s top layer. Cellulite is a perfectly normal and harmless condition, however, it is a cosmetic concern for most people. Cellulite is a normal occurrence resulting from uneven fatty deposits, mostly below the waistline. In women, fat is arranged in large chambers underneath a fairly thin layer of skin. These chambers are separated by columns of collagen fiber. In overweight individuals, too much fat is being placed into these chambers causing the pitting or bulging of the skin. In addition, as we age, the fibers shrink and thicken, pulling the skin downward. This results in a quilt-like appearance on the skin surface, especially in the glutes, thighs, and hips. Most women develop cellulite as they age and as many as 95% of women over the age of 30 develop some sort of cellulite. Female hormones also play an important role in the formation of cellulite. Estrogen stimulates the storage of fat, which is needed for pregnancy and lactation. In addition, during the later phases of pregnancy, estrogen causes the breakdown of collagen fibers. This breakdown sets the stage for the formation of cellulite. Progesterone may also contribute to the cellulite problem by weakening veins and causing water retention and weight gain.
Types of Cellulite
Stage I: Aqueous Cellulite This type of cellulite is caused by water retention due to poor blood and lymphatic circulation. It is important to drain toxins and reactivate circulatory exchanges.
Stage II: Adipose Cellulite
This type of cellulite is often associated with excess weight. It is necessary to stimulate the natural release of fat. Stage III: Fibrous Cellulite This type of cellulite is harder to get rid of because it as been present for a long time, is compact, and often painful.
The Cryo T-Shock stimulates the skin and fatty tissue to soften them and make them less fibrous. At the same time, this stimulation helps to release fat and to activate blood and lymphatic circulation. Also, the hot and cold shocks the cells to stimulate natural fat release and firms skin to give it back it’s tonality and dimple-free appearance.
-
What is the difference between Cryo T-Shock and other body shaping treatments?
There are other manual cryotherapy machines. But tests and experience have shown that no other machine is currently capable of such dramatic results as the Cryo T-Shock. These results are due to the fact that the device produces both heat and cold. The exchange within these temperatures has a dramatic effect on the body’s tissues causing them to drop to 12 °. When fat tissues reach this temperature they die and are passed through the lymphatic system.
-
How does it compare to other cold sculpting treatments?
Cryo T-Shock is a very affordable, non-invasive, and painless process that requires no anesthesia, has no risk of scarring or neuropathy, and only requires 30-50 minutes. Other methods of fat removal primarily involve a necrotic cell death by damaging fat with heat, high-intensity focused ultrasound or chemical injections. Each of these approaches poses a potential technical challenge, particularly with respect to targeting the right adipose tissue depth and unintended damage to other structures close or within the fat layer.
-
Possible side effects?
There are generally no side effects apart from the amount you urinate will increase slightly over the 3 days following the treatment along with the appearance of your urine in color. Any localized redness will disappear after a few hours. In rare cases when localized pain may occur but will dissipate within 2-3 hours. Itching may occur however this is generally due to the reaction of certain cosmetic products used by clients.
